Truly awesome and original guitar

I bought this guitar as I'm interested in composition. That entails the use of a midi instrument. And that, in my case would be a guitar (I am a grade 8 classical guitarist). I have a small home studio using Ardour as a DAW and Musescore as a notation editor. I can also use a simpler but wonderfully-enjoyable program called Rosegarden which covers both.
For this work, you will need a Roland GR55 (which I also bought from Thomann). And, just to treat myself, for when I just play for pleasure, I bought an AER Alpha amp, also from Thomann.
The guitar sounds as beautiful as my traditional classical guitar, an Esteve. But this one has the advantage (and this is a really major advantage) of having zero feedback when amplified. I can also record directly into my Daw for MIDI then turn that, either later or as I play, into ANY instrument such as a Saxophone, or Violin.
The only con (and it isn't really a con as this is NOT what the guitar is designed for) is that it is not great unplugged, not a patch on my Esteve. But, as I say, its purpose is to be amplified with no feedback and here it excels.

But, just as a guitar, this instrument is awesome: designed for classical guitarists, with the neck joining the body at the twelfth fret rather then fourteenth. Beautiful woods, beautiful feel.
Thomann were excellent with the order as the guitar took a little time to arrive with Thomann from Canada where they are made. Thomann kept me up to date with an occasion where Godin altered the delivery date slightly. The guitar arrived in perfect condition, as do all of the things I have ordered from Thomann.

I recently bought and received with DHL, a Godin Multiac Grand Concert Natural HD, along with a hard case. Excellent packaging from the store, and fast and safe shipping !! Well ... some comments about the guitar ... I am basically a classical guitarist (with great love for jazz and especially Brazilian jazz !!), who studied at the National Conservatory of Greece, and I am also a member of the union of Greek composers. My basic guitar is a Ramirez .. !! I dare say that I had a concern about having difficulty from switching back and forth to / from the classical ... To my great surprise as soon as I grabbed it in my hands I found that the guitar is made for classical guitarists, who want an electro-acoustic sound, with huge midi capabilities, especially if the guitar is combined with the Roland GR-55. The feeling while playing is very good, although I would prefer the strings a little lower on the fretboard ... nevertheless the playing is very comfortable and an almost unnoticeable radius of fretboard helps in this. The sound quality from the guitar pickup is very good, and if we combine it with the right amplifier, then we can enjoy a great sound. I personally use an Acoustic Image Coda -R. The whole construction and finishing is very good !! Also the weight of the guitar with its proper weighing make it relaxed and pleasant for live performances! highly recommended !!

La gran marca de guitarras Godin afirma haber satisfecho a los guitarristas clásicos con ganas de experimentar sonidos sintetizados con la Grand Concert Multiac. Creo que lo han conseguido en gran medida, aunque hay varios puntos a tener en cuenta antes de lanzarse a su compra:
Respecto a la fabricación:
- Para los guitarristas acostumbrados a tocar con la cintura de la guitarra en el muslo derecho (forma flamenca) puede provocar dolores en el hombro ya que la caja es estrecha y obliga al brazo a retraerse hacia atrás para mantener la técnica de la mano derecha. Con el tiempo te acostumbras.
- El mástil es ligeramente más estrecho de grosor que una guitarra clásica, parece estar pensado para guitarristas eléctricos.
- Una característica que no se incide mucho en su promoción es que el diapasón es curvo como el de las guitarras acústicas. Resulta más cómodo para digitaciones con cejillas, aunque cuesta un poco acostumbrarse cuando tocas normalmente con una guitarra de diapasón plano.
- Los filamentos metálicos que definen los trastes son estrechos y dan una suavidad inmejorable a la hora de cambiar de posiciones en la mano izquierda.
Respecto al sonido:
- Sin conectar a un equipo de sonido, la guitarra suena a un volumen con el que se puede practicar oyéndote y sin molestar a los que están en otras habitaciones.
- Conectada al sonido lo primero que resalta es el tiempo de duración y claridad de los bajos. Aunque el sonido no posee del todo el timbre de una guitarra clásica, la ecualización con su previo ofrece una amplia gama de matices entre sonido clásico y acústico.
- Por otra parte, al percusionar la tapa armónica, sólo se recoge el sonido alrededor del puente, por lo que disminuye en gran medida las posibilidades de percusión que requieren algunos temas clásicos como la Parazula.
- El gran logro de esta guitarra es su sistema MIDI, eso si, has de tener una pedalera del estilo Roland GR (20, 30 o 55) u otra marca que trabaje con sistema MIDI para sacarle el máximo partido sonoro.
Por estos motivos, creo que es una guitarra muy polivalente. Muy competente para tocar temas clásicos pero también para meter en el repertorio otros temas pop, rock, etc... al igual que acompañar en un grupo con solos de cualquier instrumento que sintetize la pedalera.

Ik denk dat ze dit voor een groot deel hebben bereikt, al zijn er een aantal punten waarmee je rekening moet houden voordat je het aanschaft: Wat betreft de fabricage: - Voor gitaristen die gewend zijn om met de taille van de gitaar op de rechterdij te spelen (flamencovorm). schouderpijn veroorzaken omdat de box smal is en de arm dwingt zich terug te trekken om de rechterhandtechniek te behouden. Na verloop van tijd raak je eraan gewend. - De hals is iets smaller van dikte dan die van een klassieke gitaar, hij lijkt ontworpen voor elektrische gitaristen. - Een kenmerk dat bij de promotie niet veel wordt beïnvloed, is dat de toets gebogen is, net als die van akoestische gitaren. Het is comfortabeler om met capo's te vingeren, hoewel het even wennen is als je normaal gesproken op een gitaar met platte toets speelt. - De metalen filamenten die de frets definiëren zijn smal en zorgen voor een onverslaanbare soepelheid bij het wisselen van positie in de linkerhand. Wat het geluid betreft: - Zonder aansluiting op een geluidssysteem speelt de gitaar op een volume waarop je kunt oefenen door jezelf te horen en zonder anderen in andere kamers te storen. - Verbonden met het geluid, het eerste dat opvalt is de duur en helderheid van de bas. Hoewel het geluid niet helemaal het timbre van een klassieke gitaar heeft, biedt de egalisatie met zijn voorversterker een breed scala aan nuances tussen klassiek en akoestisch geluid. - Aan de andere kant wordt bij het percusseren van de zangbodem het geluid alleen rond de brug verzameld, wat de percussiemogelijkheden die vereist zijn bij sommige klassieke liedjes zoals de Parazula aanzienlijk vermindert. - De grote prestatie van deze gitaar is het MIDI-systeem, dus ja, je moet een Roland GR-stijl pedalboard (20, 30 of 55) hebben of een ander merk dat met een MIDI-systeem werkt om er het maximale uit te halen. Om deze redenen denk ik dat het een zeer veelzijdige gitaar is. Zeer bekwaam om klassieke liedjes te spelen, maar ook om andere pop-, rock-, enz.-nummers in het repertoire op te nemen, en om een groep te begeleiden met solo's van elk instrument dat het pedaal synthetiseert.

Je suis très satisfait de cette guitare. De plus, j'ai acheté le GR55 de chez Roland et là, au merveille, pouvoir jouer de la guitare en écoutant un orgue ou une flûte... La livraison s'est parfaitement déroulée. L'emballage des produits était parfait. Maintenant, il faut voir à l'usage mais je pense qu'il n'y a pas de raison d'être déçu. Très bon(s) produit(s).

Hallo allemaal, ik ben zeer tevreden met deze gitaar. Daarnaast kocht ik de GR55 van Roland en daar, heerlijk, gitaar kunnen spelen terwijl ik naar een orgel of fluit luisterde... De levering verliep perfect. De verpakking van de producten was perfect. Nu moeten we zien hoe het wordt gebruikt, maar ik denk dat er geen reden is om teleurgesteld te zijn. Zeer goed product(en).
