Beyond expectations

I've been meaning to listen to these before buying them but having not found any in stock near where I lived I decided to take a leap of faith and order them regardless. For context, I transitioned from a pair of venerable jbl LSR305 which were amazing for me when I started out but not comparable in any real aspect with the LYD48s. I had listened to some Dynaudio's before, some BM5's I believe and was most pleased with the type of sound they reproduced when compared with other manufacturers. When researching I listened to what I could get my hands on, some Adam's A8x, the Yamaha's HS8's, and the Dynaudio's i previously mentioned. I know these are not all in this price range but still, you cannot compare the way the sound actually comes alive with these speakers. Pristine quality, absolultely mesmerising soundstage and an overall great experience whenever I listen to them. This review doesn't do much for people used to speakers in this price range but for someone planning on upgrading from something lower in price/range, these cannot disappoint you. Worth the 1 month wait between when I first ordered and when they dispatched.

Amazing 3 way speaker

Straight off the bat when I set up the LYD 48's there is this massive sound, but yet the definition from them is striking. One huge benefit that has helped me with setting up my sound is the 'Wall' switch option the LYD series has, which I’m sure a huge amount of people find useful due to proximity issues in home or even purpose built studio spaces. I had LYD 5's before these, and while they are amazing speakers the extra mid range driver opens up a world of frequencies I wasn't getting before. Also compared to a lot of other high end 3 way speakers the price is extremely good for what you get.

Schlechter Bass, aggressive Mitten, mattes Klangbild

Ich hatte die Monitore als besserer Option zu meinen Yamaha HS80 bestellt. Besonders für den Bereich unter 60Hz suchte ich etwas agileres. Jedoch können die LYD-48 genau dort nicht überzeugen. Der Bassdrums von 80-120Hz sind zwar sehr schön satt aber alles was tief ist verschwindet. Auch die Mitten sind sehr aggressiv und schon fast plärrend. Das Klangbild ist eher matt und sehr flach. Ich finde gerade 3 Weg Monitore in diesem Preissegment sollten da mehr bieten.
