Some of the best midranges I've heard, and I've heard many. Sound is well-rounded and detailed without harshness or objectionable distortion at high levels. Certainly hi-fi quality.
Roll-off behavior is very good - textbook 12 db/oct above 5,5 kHz and almost no cone break-up modes to speak of; good dispersion even at higher frequencies; can easily cover the most critical range of 250...5500 Hz.
Doesn't need a complex crossover to sound good - in fact, I'm using none (except the active one for bass/mid separation), the driver's natural roll-off is good enough to successfully pair it with a tweeter.
And yet robust - they can take some low-frequency abuse...

I ordered this unit as the driver unit for a Bill Fitzmaurice Designs Wedgehorn 6 monitor speaker, although not strictly related too the quLit of the unit, I think it's important to mention that Thomann are vital to us hobbyist speaker builders in that they stock Eminence and other driver units at decent prices.
I've used eminence 10"' 12" and 10" neodymium units in a variety of designs and not had a problem with any of them so far and they've all taken a fairly harsh hammering in our bands PA.
Packaging is fairly basic but protective of the speaker inside, it might be helpful if Eminence provided some reference to their own speaker building guidance in the carton but I guess the assumption as is that if you order a bare driver unit, you know what you are doing.
The bottom line is all Eminence units are a solid, reliable choice and usually priced vert competitively from Thomann. Not five stars on sound quality simply because that depends on your specific enclosure.

Was rebuilding a Peavy Hisys 3 pa and couldn't find 6inch speakers anywhere but Thomann to the rescue! These are very solidly built and easily better than the peavey originals! Great sound at a great price! Well impressed! 5*

Der Eminence Alpha 6 Ist ein Klasse Mitteltöner für´s kleine Geld die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut. Der Sound ist bei diesem Mitteltöner für seinen Preis sehr klar, aber ein bisschen zurückhaltend.Perfekt für 3 Wege Lautschprecher oder Monitore.
