I bought this shoulder rest to be used on a 1/4 violin by my 6 years old daughter .
Pros:
The aluminium plate can be folded to your personal shoulder shape.
Can be used on 1/4 and 1/2 violins
Cons:
This shoulder rest is difficult to be handled by a child! My daughter always needs help to put it on and also to get it of her violin.
It takes a lot of space and when my daughter tries to fold it and unfold it in and out of her violin case, the adjusting screws turn all around and we have to adjust the height every single time I put it on for her! ( we store it in the outer pocket designed for shoulder rests of the standard case which came with the Stentor student 2 violin 1500, she uses)
The rubber protective tubes that exist on its adjusting feet are of poor quality. After just one week of use they started to disintegrate, they became thinner, I can see the metal underneath and I am afraid that next time I put it on they will fall apart and damage the violin.
I do not recommend this item!
