Rock all day and night

Many say it's a Tiny Terror with expanded EQ section, that is and isn't true. It has very little headroom, overdrives very quickly, but it's a different kind of distortion than Tiny Terror, It's sweeter, more old school rock'n'roll-ish than TT, the EQ is very responsive, the whole amp sound is very responsive with the volume control on a guitar, more dynamics than TT, looks great, sounds great, but it is kind of limitig whit that low headroom. I really don't mind it, but it isn't for everyone, it's really for old school rockers, it's not as heavy sounding as TT, nor metal sounding even at full gain, can be if you use the right boost pedal, but if you plug straight in, man oh man, pure rock'n'roll.

Orange OR 15 H review
Simo T. 04.10.2013
Orange OR 15 H is an all tube head in style of their other model Tiny Terror. It has the "pics only" visual design which I find to be very cool. The amp itself is very straight-forward. You have the controls for gain and volume as well as a three way Eq. The amp also features a tube buffered effects loop. You can run the amp in 7 or 15 watts depending how much headroom you will need.
The amp has the unique Orange-tone in it although it differs from the legendary amps back in the 60's and 70's. It sounds good even in bedroom levels but comes really alive when cranked. I think it has a huge amout of gain when turned the whole way up. I rarely turn the gain knob past 12 o'clock. The eq is pretty effective and versatile especially the middle control which easily gets you from scooped american style sound to more Marshallish midboosted growl.
It plays well with a lot of pedals and sounds sweet when boosted. I find the amp very dynamic and responsive which is what you expect from a good tube amp. The effects loop is a nice add-on which enables the use of reverb pedals in a more subtle way.
All in all a great amp for a reasonable price. Looks good, sounds good - what more do you need?

Good all-round amplifier, with both weak and strong points. I found it reacts slightly better to single coil pickups and lower output humbuckers, with no drive pedals. Any blues/rock guitarist who masters picking dynamics and handles the volume of his/her guitar(s) properly, should definitely try this one out!
Good:
- Nice clean sounds that can be sparkly or woody, depending on the amp settings and the guitar used.
- Superb crunch sounds (mild and heavier), with great reaction to volume changes on the guitar/pickups.
- The amp is very portable.
Bad:
- The heavier (metal) tones are not very good. Once the gain knob pushed past 1 o' clock, the bottom end gets muddy and the high end fizzy.
- The EQ-controls are difficult to use and take time getting used to.
- Finding the right drive pedal for this amp is...difficult.
