Robust and low profile design
Anoniem 13.03.2016
The clip supplied with "older" Sennheiser 441 mics was perhaps the only weak point in this otherwise great microphone's design. The clear, perspex-like plastic design was notorious for being brittle, and snapping.
The 441 is a great mic, but not a particularly cheap one. I for one never want to risk rigging a mic in a broken clip, in case it slips out. This is particularly true when rigging the 441 at upward or downward angles on snare, as I often do.
This robust, updated clip is a great improvement on the original. It grips the 441's body tightly and snugly. I have never known a 441 to slip out of this clip, no matter how extreme the angle I have rigged the mic at.
The matt black finish of the clip proves unobtrusive on stage, and looks good on camera. For those storing 441's in their original Sennheiser boxes, this clip can still be stored in the box's foam cut out, meant for the original clip.
This isn't a cheap product, but is worth the money for the peace of mind it brings.
Amusingly, this is the only mic holder on the market I have come across, which will also securely hold the original Micron Radio Mic handheld transmitters. Anyone still using these?!!!

Square clamp
jetam 01.12.2020
Is it worth spending 1/4 of Burundi's GDP per capita on a mic clamp? It's just a normal mic clamp but square instead of round. Still, I haven't found a better alternative yet. Maybe Thomann should make their own cheaper version.

I bought it, just to be Shure ...

There is no alternative for the fragile original clamp but this one, it's way overpriced in my opinion.
Unfortunately, this one looks like it came out of a 3D printer. Plastic adapter screw, really?
I needed to tighten the little black screw to get "some" friction in order to prevent the clamp from tilting, and it already felt like I was wearing out the molded plastic.
At this price point they could have hired someone to proofread packaging, too ;).
