Do you still have 1st generation 2i2? Switch now. (1st VS 2nd gen 2i2)

Important to know is that there are different generations of Focusrite audio interfaces. For example, the 2i2 has a 1st and 2nd generation version. On almost every webshop they sell these days 2nd generation 2i2's. But if you're looking for the secondhand market or have a 1st generation still at home working, it's important to know the differences between the 1st and 2nd generations 2i2 audio interfaces.

First of all, the 1st works just fine. We from Inside Audio worked with a 1st generation for over 6 years, the audio interfaces are well-built and always are plug and play.

Update 2020: there is now already a 3rd generation Focusrite 2i2.

But with the 2nd generation Focusrite made some decent steps forward, the build quality, look and internal-hardware is better.
