Pioneer launches new streaming app DJM-REC

DJM-REC. With this app you can make recordings from your DJ set or start a stream on Youtube, Facebook Live, Periscope, Instagram or Snapchat directly from a mixer that supports it. You can make recordings by connecting your iDevices with a lightning cable. Connect to the USB Send / Return as found on our latest generation mixers: DJM-TOUR1, DJM-900NXS2, DJM-750MK2 and the DJM-450.

You can also make recordings with the microphone of your iDevice, however, that is of lesser quality than the lightning cable. Make sure that the mixer has the latest version of firmware otherwise the app does not recognize the mixer. In the app you can very simply press the REC button to quickly start a recording. Recordings can be made in 16bit WAV or AAC compressed audio. You can also make audio recordings with the built-in microphone of your iDevice, but if you use the lightning connection you record the sound digitally.
